Chevolution DVD

| DVD

In 1960 Cuban photographer Alberto 'Korda' Diaz captured a photo of Che Guevara during a mass funeral. History conspired to enable this dynamic portrait to explode on the world scene where it became an international symbol of protest and dissent. It is considered to be the most reproduced image in the history of photograpy. Chevolution is a film about a photograph. It explores how the Che image traveled from Korda's studio in Havana to the streets of Europe and beyond and how this portrait with its enigmatic gaze became a symbol for countless visions for change.

Documentary that traces the history of one of the most iconic images of the 20th century - the photo of Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara taken by photographer Alberto Korda. Taken in 1960 while Che Guevara was attending an outdoor memorial service, Korda's photo of the revolutionary leader remained unknown until the end of the decade, when an Italian publisher asked to use the image. Since then, the bereted head of the martyred leader has appeared on everything from protest banners to t-shirts, becoming the image of choice for both revolutionaries and advertisers alike.
