The general atmosphere, however, is tense, as Bates (Brendan Coyle)'s arrest threatens to mar proceedings. Meanwhile, Mary (Michelle Dockery) is forced to reconsider her future with Sir Richard Carlisle (Iain Glen) after an incident at the shooting party, while Cora, Countess of Grantham (Elizabeth McGovern), makes a shocking discovery.
