Featuring archive footage, 'A Giant in the Century - His Life in Colour' (2013), follows Churchill's private life and political career in which he held many significant posts including Home Secretary in 1910, Chancellor of the Exchequer and Secretary of State for War before eventually becoming Prime Minister in 1940 where he led Great Britain to victory in the Second World War. In addition to his political career, he was also an artist and historian and remains the only British Prime Minister to have won the Nobel Prize for Literature. The short documentary 'Churchill's Island' (1941), chronicles the events of the Battle of Britain during the early days of the Second World War. In 1942, it became the first recipient of the Academy Award for Best Documentary.
