Documentary following a Mexican travelling circus and the tensions within the family that run it. Tino Ponce is the head of the family and circus, inheritor of a tradition that is over 100 years old and has been passed down from generation to generation. Very much aware of this tradition, Tino is determined to keep the circus running, even as financial issues beset it and he has to work day and night. Indeed, so determined is Tino to keep the circus going that he employs all four of his young children in the business. This forms the basis of his conflict with his wife, Ivonne, who believes it would be better for the children were the family to put down roots rather than continue touring with an increasingly outdated profession. As the circus tour unfolds and various challenges are met, it becomes clear that the debates over whether the circus should continue and whether the family will remain together are closely interlinked.
