The story of two classic British motorcycle companies formed during the early part of the twentieth century. Both of the names 'Vincent' and 'Velocette' are synonimous with all that was great about the British motorcycle during their hey day. HRD was originally set up by Howard R Davies in 1924 but slow sales forced him into voluntary liquidation in 1927. The company was bought the same year by Phillip Vincent with support from his father and so the most well-known and respected marque in British motorcycling history was born. Velocette was a family run company which... after a shaky start built up a solid reputation mainly for its large capacity four stroke singles most of them being in traditional black and gold.
