Horror in which a group of friends journey into the woods of Louisiana in search of the truth behind a local myth and discover, to their great misfortune, that horror really does lurk in the woods. Ex-Navy Seal Niles (Mehcad Brooks) and his girlfriend, Emily (Serinda Swan), are on a road trip to New Orleans with a number of friends. Fuelled with the spirit of adventure generated by life on the road, when the friends stop at a convenience store run by Chopper (Sid Haig), they decide to investigate his tale of a fearsome creature that lurks in the local woods. The friends journey into the countryside in good spirits, but become increasingly unsettled as they approach the area where the creature is said to reside. Will any of them make it out alive?
