But when her mother leaves her step-father for a local barman half her age, Roseanne's life is turned upside down and she is forced to put up with an abusive and alcoholic step-father. Soon rumours start spreading around the school about her and, unable to stand the abuse her step-father has been inflicting any longer, she kills him. However, things are further complicated when her mother is accused of the murder and Roseanne finds support from Vincent, a loner who has always been obsessed with her.
