Sean Connery stars in this drama about the build-up to the Cuban Revolution, directed by Richard Lester. Mercenary Robert Drapes (Connery) travels to Cuba at the request of the corrupt General Bello (Martin Balsam) to train forces to fight back against the revolt. Although cynical by nature, Drapes cannot help but be horrified by the brutality he witnesses under President Batista (Wolfe Morris)'s regime. Drapes also meets up with old flame Alexandra Lopez de Pulido (Brooke Adams), now married to a wealthy Cuban factory owner.
