Titles Comprise:Dracula: Although there have been numerous screen versions of Bram Stoker's classic tale, Dracula, none is more enduring than this 1931 movie. Towering ominously among the shadows of the Carpathian Mountains, Castle Dracula strikes fear in the hearts of the Transylvanian villagers below. With the superb Bela Lugosi starring as the screen's most popular vampire Count Dracula, the film's eerie and chilling mood is enhanced by specialist horror director Tod Browning. Dracula remains a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time.Frankenstein: Boris... Karloff stars as the screen's most memorable monster in what many consider to be the greatest horror film ever made. Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) dares to tamper with life and death by creating a human monster (Karloff) out of lifeless body parts. It is director James Whale's adaptation of the Mary Shelley novel blended with Karloff's compassionate portrayal of a creature groping for identity that makes Frankenstein a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time. The Wolf Man: The original horror classic that introduced one of the screen's most infamous monsters! Lon Chaney Jr. portrays Larry Talbot, who returns to his father's (Claude Rains) castle in Wales and meets a beautiful woman (Evelyn Ankers). One fateful night, Talbot escorts her to a local carnival where Jenny's fate is revealed by a mysterious gypsy fortune teller. Today, over 65 years after it was first released, the dreamlike atmospheres and elaborate settings combined with a chilling musical score make The Wolf Man a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time! The Bride of Frankenstein: One of the most popular horror classics of all time, and an acclaimed sequel to the original Frankenstein. The legendary Boris Karloff reprises his role as the screen's most misunderstood monster who now longs for a mate of his own. Colin Clive is back as the overly ambitious Dr. Frankenstein, who creates the ill-fated bride (Elsa Lanchester). Directed by the original's James Whale (his last horror film) and featuring a haunting musical score, The Bride of Frankenstein ranks as one of the finest films not only of the genre, but for all time. Collection of four classic horror films. 'Dracula' (1931), based on the novel by Bram Stoker, follows estate agent Renfield (Dwight Frye) as he travels to Transylvania to arrange the sale of an English mansion to nobleman Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi). Renfield discovers that he has bitten off more than he can chew when his host turns out to be a 500-year-old vampire. When Dracula descends on London, vampire expert Professor Van Helsing (Edward van Sloan) attempts to put an end to the bloodsucking. In 'Wolf Man' (1941) American-educated Larry Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr) returns to his father (Claude Rains)'s mansion in Wales. He takes a liking to local girl Gwen Conliffe (Evelyn Ankers) and escorts her to the local fair, however when she tells him about the local legend of the werewolf he laughs it off as superstition. Later in the evening Larry is bitten by the wolf as he tries to rescue a friend of Jenny's and discovers that the legend is only too true when the next full moon transforms him into the murderous 'wolfman'. 'Frankenstein' (1931), based on the novel by Mary Shelley, tells the story of scientist Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive), who has become alienated from his friends and bride-to-be through his obsessive determination to create life. Frankenstein has created a monster out of body parts acquired by his assistant, Fritz (Frye), and succeeds in giving it life during an electrical storm. However, due to a mistake by Fritz, the creature (Karloff) possesses the brain of a killer, and goes on the rampage, terrorising the local community. 'Bride of Frankenstein' (1935), the sequel to 'Frankenstein' (1931), finds scientist Henry Frankenstein (Clive) recuperating from the events of the first film. Believing his creation to have been destroyed in a fire, Henry is perturbed to receive a visit from his former mentor, Dr Praetorius (Ernest Thesiger), who wishes Frankenstein (Karloff) to resume his experiments. Frankenstein refuses, but when Praetorius discovers the monster alive, he uses it to kidnap Frankenstein's wife and attempts to blackmail the doctor into creating a mate.
