All three feature-length episodes from the first series of the BBC crime drama, based on the characters created by crime novelist Reginald Hill. Warren Clarke plays the bluff, cynical Yorkshire detective, Superintendent Andy Dalziel, assisted by polished, University-educated Detective Sergeant Peter Pascoe (Colin Buchanan). Although complete opposites as people, the two cops find their skills perfectly complimenting each other as they investigate a series of grisly murders and crimes. In this series, the detectives investigate the death of a local rugby player's wife, and unearth a woman's body buried on the campus of Pascoe's old university. Episodes are: 'A Clubbable Woman'; 'An Advancement of Learning'; and 'An Autumn Shroud'.
