When gangsters arrive at the fancy TriBeCa restaurant owned by bookmaker Louis Cropa (Danny Aiello), it marks the start of a long and unpredictable night for all concerned. The gangsters issue a demand that Louis hand over the business to them, but before Louis can think about co-operating he has a whole set of other problems to deal with. For a start, there is his chef son Udo (Edoardo Ballerini), who wants to take charge of the business himself; then there's the sous-chef Duncan (Kirk Acevedo), a gambler who owes money to the mob; and Nicole (Vivian Wu), the restaurant hostess, who is involved in relationships with both Udo and Duncan. Add to this the presence of an art world party, an artist/waitress, a restaurant critic, a visiting detective, and a power failure, and you can see that Louis has some real juggling to do if the night is going to pass without a major disaster.
