The beautiful, rich and meddling Emma Woodhouse is happiest when matchmaking couples and what's more she's good at it, or so she thinks! Both the older sister and governess have found suitable husbands, although she didn't really have much to do with it. Yet Emma, certain that she has a talent for it, sets to work on her friend Harriot. She tells her socially inferior friend to turn down a marriage proposal from a local farmer in favour of the handsome Mr Elton. Emma is desperate for Harriot to find happiness, but Kinsley is annoyed with Emma for raising Harriot's... hopes of an impossible match.
