Everton Season Review 2010 / 2011 DVD

| DVD

Have your chance to relive the rollercoaster season for the blues, after a poor start with 2 losses and a draw, the blues welcomed Manchester United to Goodison Park which showed great team spirit among the team with 3 minutes added on and 3 1 down, the points were surely Uniteds. What looked like a consolation goal from Tim Cahill, it proved vital as Mikel Arteta smashed home the equalizer just one minute later. The blues couldn’t react to this classic as they were then knocked out of the Carling Cup by Brentford and had to wait till October before picking up their... first win away to Birmingham, then 2 weeks later was the Merseyside Derby against struggling Liverpool, the atmosphere was loud and the players rose to the challenge and beat their arch rivals 2 0 after goals from Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta.Things looked to have turned around for Everton after some good results and only losing 1 in 8 but West Brom shocked everyone after a 4 1 hammering to the blues in their own back yard. It was Chelsea away and after an inspirational substitution from David Moyes, Jermaine Beckford headered the equalizer in the 87th minute so secure a well deserved point for Everton. Then to another big away game at Manchester City, with a header from Tim Cahill and a sweet finish from Baines secures another win at the Eastlands for Everton.January saw the departure of Steven Pienaar to Tottenham but the Toffee men didn’t look affected after beating Scunthorpe 5-1 then another classic Merseyside derby finishing 2-2 the another 1-1 draw with Chelsea, this time at Goodison and in the FA cup. The draw then meant a replay but before that there was an 8 goal thriller at home to Blackpool which saw the blues win 5-3. The replay to Chelsea was arguably one of the greatest moments of the season for the fans and players, after a goalless 90 minutes, Frank Lampard put Chelsea 1-0 up in the extra time, but a late free kick from Leighton Baines ensured that the game would go to penalties with an unlikely hero, Phil Neville. Since that, Evertons impressive away form continued with a 2-1 victory at Newcastle and a 3-0 win at Wolves and winning 3 out of 5 home games, drawing the others. [show more]
