The protagonists in this documentary are the patients and staff at the La Borde psychiatric clinic in France. Each summer they perform a play on a stage set in the grounds of La Borde. The film charts the rehearsals for the play and allows the viewer a glimpse at life in one the world's most highly regarded psychiatric institutions.
