Dennis Lee writes and directs this semi-autobiographical drama about a dysfunctional family struggling to find its way beyond a devastating and unforeseen tragedy. Julia Roberts stars as beleaguered family matriarch Lisa Waechter, who has long subordinated her needs and desires to those of her family, particularly her coldly domineering husband Charles (Willem Dafoe). A tragic event triggers a series of flashbacks revealing how the seeds of the family's current malaise were planted years previously. Ryan Reynolds, Emily Watson, Carrie-Anne Moss and Ioan Gruffudd co-star.
