'The first scientific science-fiction film', which appears to have predicted much real space exploration (including the count down). As a someone who loves films and sci-fi novels, and has more than a passing interest in science, I had to check this out. Having done so I have recommended it to a number of friends, despite my sci-fi novel half being more delighted than my cinematic one. That said my cinematic side was very impressed to. This film tells the story of a bunch of honest engineers, a scientist and an 11 year old boy trying to achieve their dream of reaching the moon, and resist the evil grasps of an international cartel of greedy capitalists. It is sci-fi, spy/crime thriller, drama and road move all rolled into one, and rather than being a mess is very enjoyable.

The DVD looks incredible considering the films age and comes with a short documentary on the films relationship with real space exploration, as well an article pointing to all the important things about. Highly recommended.
