It's time to revisit Camp Crystal Lake again in Marcus Nispel's remake of the classic Friday 13th horror that's not for the faint hearted. Providing more back story than the original, this Friday 13th starts on June 13, 1980, when a young Jason Voorhees witnesses his mother get beheaded by a camp counselor who was trying to escape her deadly rampage around Camp Crystal Lake. 30 years later, a group of youngsters go camping near the abandoned Camp Crystal Lake to find some marijuana. Whitney Miller explores the abandoned camp and finds the old Voorhees house and in... it a locket showing that she looks similar to Jason's mother. Jason arrives at the camp and kills the group one by one but, thinking she is his mother back from the dead, he keeps Whitney captive instead. Weeks later, Trent and his friends arrive to stay at his father's summer house unaware of the previous week's events. Meanwhile Clay also visits the area to look for his missing sister Whitney. With plenty of new victims to play with, Psychotic Jason, hungry for blood, finds a hockey mask to cover his face and begins his murderous killing spree. This terrifying reimagining sees the makings of a natural born killer. Reacquaint yourself with cinema's deadliest monster...the machete wielding Jason Voorhees. [show more]

Horror remake of the original 1980 teenage slasher movie. The film begins in 1980 with Pamela Voorhees (Nana Visitor) attempting to murder her last female victim in a bid to avenge her son Jason (Derek Mears)'s death. However, the girl manages to escape after cutting off Pamela's head: an act which the young and apparently alive Jason witnesses from the woods. Events then skips to the present day with a group of teenagers set to go camping at Camp Crystal Lake, the scene of previous atrocities. Inevitably, one by one, they run into the machete-wielding, hockey-masked Jason who's back to do some slashing.
