Born in 1935 Gene Vincent was wracked by substantial pain most of his life as a result of a 1955 motorcycle accident. Success came and went in a blur for Vincent. His one really big hit 'Be-Bop-A-Lula' epitomised rockabilly at its prime in 1956. In 1998 Gene Vincent was admitted to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. He died at the age of 36 from a ruptured ulcer.
