Redemptive drama, where a rebellious teenager finally sees the light as three generations of the same family lay their demons to rest. Californian teen-with-attitude Rachel (Lindsay Lohan), finally takes it too far when she crashes her alcoholic mother Lily's (Felicity Huffman) car. Having previously vowed never to return, but with no options left, Lily decides to farm her out to her mother Georgia (Jane Fonda), a strict matriarch, who lives on a small farm in a Mormon town in Idaho. Over the course of the summer, Rachel, who initially rebels against the 'Georgia rules' of her grandmother - based around respect for God and a hard day's work - gradually begins to acclimatise to her new life, finally accepting responsibilty and learning compassion for her mother.
