When a young newlywed couple acquire an antique brooch and buy an old abandoned house it isn't long before they come into contact with Mae Nak (Porntip Papanai) a figure of horror and despair and one of Thailand's most enduring ghost legends. After first protecting the young couple it quickly becomes clear that she expects a terrible favour in return. When Mak (Siwat Chotchaicharin) is incapacitated it is up to his bride to find a way to contact the ghost of Mae Nak in order to release him from her grip.
