Goodwood celebrated 100 years since the birth of the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio with a collection of his winning cars from 1939 to 1958, driven on laps of honour by the likes of Sir Stirling Moss and Sir Jackie Stewart, both of whom consider Fangio to have been the greatest driver in the history of motor racing.The 2011 Revival also paid tribute to the Spitfire on the 75th anniversary of its maiden flight. The sight of ten Spitfires in formation over the former Westhampnett wartime aerodrome will live long in the memories of all who saw it. On the ground, and in the air, the Spitfires attracted huge crowds and this DVD includes some dramatic film of the celebration of this historic aircraft. Ford of Britain chose the Revival as the stage on which to celebrate its centenary, the first UK-built Model T coming off the assembly line in Manchester in 1911. With more than 100 vehicles on parade, featuring Ford cars, vans and lorries across the decades, this was the biggest parade of vehicles ever assembled on the Goodwood circuit.The dramatic track action included the multi-million pound grid for the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration race, with Ferrari 250 GTOs, Cobras and Aston Martins battling initially in the bright late summer sunshine, and ending in a torrential downpour, creating plenty of excitement on the slippery track, and making it one of our greatest races ever.
