Korean gangland drama. When Mak-Dong (Han Suk-Kyu) is discharged from the military, he returns home to find his village transformed into a city. Confused, alone and alienated, he drifts into the shady world of organised crime, which offers him some stability and familiarity in its codes of honour and respect. However, this tenuous morality comes crashing down around him when he finds himself embroiled in a complex love triangle with his gangland boss and his boss's mistress. Meanwhile, the criminal empire itself is starting to come apart at the seams...

After being discharged from the army, Mak-dong returns to his village to discover it has become a city. Alone and vulnerable, he finds himself drawn into the criminal underworld but his new-found life is about to come crashing down around him when he begins an affair with the mistress of his boss.
