Formed in Helsinki in 1979 Hanoi Rocks drew their influences from American punk bands such as The Stooges and The New York Dolls. Unlike their punk peers they also delved into the music that inspired their heroes - Chuck Berry Little Richard and other Rock n Roll icons. The band became a massive influence on rock bands that followed including Guns n Roses and Manic Street Preachers.For five years Hanoi Rocks stormed the world and amassed a huge cult following that still thrives today. Mike Monroe and Andy McCoy reformed as Hanoi Rocks in 2002 and are still touring.On... 23rd April 1984.
