Lonely pensioner, Harold Gimble, has become the first man to suffer from a new neurological disease that is slowly turning him into a zombie-like state. Harold's hermit-like existence is shaken up when a vivacious nurse, Penny Rudge, is sent along to alleviate his stiffness. Her 'special' massage techniques work a treat on Harold and they become close friends.Harold agrees to trial a possible cure for the disease at a private institute, and the initial results are excellent. Comedy drama following an old man with onset Rigours Disease, which inevitably turns its sufferers into zombies. With the rise of the disease, a group of local hardmen have been taking out its many victims. When the elderly Harold (Stan Rowe) begins to get stiff, a symptom of Rigours, nurse Penny (Sarah Spencer) comes to care for him, helping to slow down his deteriorating condition. As Harold and Penny find friendship with one another, however, the signs of his illness become more prominent. Is he destined to meet the same end as all the other zombies?

Soon, a nurse, Penny, is sent along to try and alleviate his stiffness and this shakes up Harold's usual hermit-like existance. The two soon get close and Harold decides to try a possible trial cure but it soon makes things worse. After the treatment, Penny overhears the doctors dire diagnosis of Harold and decides to sneak him away from the clinic as soon as possible. However, word soon gets out about Harold and a small group of bloodthirsty thugs are after them.
