Govind Nihalani directs this Hindi drama in which a woman attempts to deal with the murder of her son. Set in Calcutta in the 1970s, the film follows Sujata (Jaya Bachchan), her husband Dibyanath (Anupam Kher) and their college student son Brati (Joy Sengupta). When Brati is killed, the couple find their lives in turmoil. Grieving the loss of her son, Sujata searches for the truth behind his death but what she uncovers puts both her and Dibyanath in danger.
