Noirish drama revealing the true story of a Jewish lawyer who challenged Hitler and paid with his life. Starring Ian Hart as Adolf Hitler and Ed Stoppard as the audacious lawyer Hans Litten. In the spring of 1931, with Germany on the brink of economic collapse, the audacious Hans Litten put Adolf Hitler on the witness stand of a Berlin court. At great personal risk the young lawyer aimed to expose the true character of Hitler to the German public and thereby... halt the phenomenal rise of the Nazi Party. Ed Stoppard and Ian Hart star in this made-for-TV drama about the Jewish lawyer that dared to take on Adolf Hitler. Prior to the outbreak of the Second World War, in 1931, young prosecutor Hans Litten (Stoppard) summoned Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler (Hart) to testify as a witness in the Tanzpalast Eden Trial. Hoping to expose the rising politician's deceptions to the German public during his three-hour cross-examination, Litten would ultimately pay for his brave act by being arrested and placed in the Dachau concentration camp when Hitler assumed power two years later.
