John Muller (Paul Henreid) is a small-time hood, fresh out of jail but already planning a heist with his old gang that will move him into the big time. However, his choice of targets leaves a little to be desired as his plan involves turning over a casino run by a powerful mob boss. With the gangster and his henchmen hot on his tail he decides on some drastic action to throw them off the scent.
