Nobody knows where love and colonic irrigation goes.Terence Gross’ bizarre and satiric dark comedy follows the peculiar travails of chef Kath (Toni Collette) and her former lover Ronald (Daniel Craig). He’s been running decaying resort and spa, the Hotel Splendide, just the way his parents did years before. Bad food and regular enemas are included in the price. After five years away, Kath returns to work with Ronald, with unexpected results. Strange, beguiling and scatological, Hotel Splendide is a singular journey into the gothic and eccentric. An exceptional international... cast includes veteran actor Peter Vaughan, the late Katrin Cartlidge and Stephen Tompkinson. Extras: Featurette Trailer Image Gallery [show more]

The Blanche siblings run a hotel on a remote, desolate, rain-swept island somewhere in Northern Europe. Ronald (Daniel Craig) is the chef, dedicated to serving the same bland, tasteless food his mother once served; Cora (Katrin Cartlidge) looks after the visitor's health with a bracing routine of enemas and mud baths; and Dezmond (Stephen Tompkinson) is the man in charge of managing the whole operation. When ex-chef Kath (Toni Collette) returns, resumes her old affair with Ronald, and begins injecting some flavour into the food, life at the Hotel Splendide begins to get a little out-of-hand.
