Recorded live at the Michigan Theatre on 19 April 2011 this heartfelt tribute/celebration of Stooge guitarist Ron Asheton's life and music featured Iggy and the Stooges Henry Rollins and guest guitarist Deniz Tek (Radio Birdman). Includes a string section on a few Stooges classics! All proceeds go to the Ron Asheton Foundation which helps rescue animals. During the concert Iggy Pop commented to the crowd I need to thank Ron. He sort of peed this beautiful music all over me. When I started a band Ron was the first guy who got behind me. I owe him...I know he's... trying to flick ashes on my head from heaven right now. Asheton is ranked as number 29 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He has also played with The Wylde Ratttz a band composed of some of punk and alt-rock's most renowned and respected musicians. The band included Mike Watt of the Minutemen J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and Mark Arm of Mudhoney. [show more]
