A gold shipment is hijacked and buried. At the end of the US Civil War, Captain Martin is assigned to recover it from its secret location, in spite of outlaws and Apaches.

1960s western set during the latter stages of the American Civil War. When gold is taken from the US government and hidden, Captain Matt Martin (Robert Fuller) is sent to retrieve it. He discovers from murderous convict Joe Barlow (Dan Duryea) that the gold is located at Phantom Hill, in dangerous Comanche territory. The situation worsens when word spreads about the search for treasure and various ruthless outlaws join the hunt.
