One Saturday morning John wakes up convinced that there is something very big and invisible on the end of his bed. It transpires that this invisible creature is a giant who won't let John measure it and writes the letters IVO on the mirror when asked its name. John decides to call the invisible giant Ivor and together they get up to lots of mischief, especially at John's school and in the park. Also included is the 30 minute film 'Here Comes the Bogeyman' which charts the magical work of children's writer Raymond Briggs with clips from 'The Snowman', 'Father Christmas' and 'The Bear'.
