Jonathan Creek - Daemons' Roost DVD

| DVD

According to legend, the dark, forbidding edifice of Daemons' Roost was once home to a sorcerer named Jacob Surtees, who harnessed the powers of Hell to subjugate his victims. Living there today is the veteran film director Nathan Clore, whose output of schlock horror movies in the Seventies generated its own brand of terror among cinema audiences. His health now failing, he has summoned home his stepdaughter Alison, to share with her, finally, the dreadful truth about what happened to her family there when she was just a child. Were her mother and sisters really... killed by demonic forces? And what is the macabre background to the seemingly impossible death of her husband Stephen's first wife - in a locked room murder that became known as the Striped Unicorn Affair? The chilling solution to it all is one that will tragically resonate with events in Jonathan Creek's own distant past [show more]

2016 Christmas special of the BBC crime drama starring Alan Davies as scruffy amateur detective and master of illusion Jonathan Creek. In this instalment, Jonathan is joined by his wife Polly (Sarah Alexander) to investigate the supposedly haunted house of Daemons' Roost. The house is home to veteran horror film director Nathan Clore (Ken Bones) but in the 19th century a sorcerer was said to torture his victims there using the powers of hell. With his health failing, Clore finally wants to tell his stepdaughter Alison (Georgie Lord) the past horrors her family experienced in the house and has called on Jonathan to help him, when her mother and sisters were the victims of an infamous murder. As he aids in the supernatural investigation, Jonathan finds himself also confronting events from his own past.
