The first verses of a romance by Lope de Vega 'De mis soledades voy de mis soledades vengo' are the title of the latest record by Jos Menese one of the leading flamenco cantaores (singers). The title provides a clue as to the content of the record: it is a tribute to the great poets of the Siglo de Oro (Golden Century) of Spanish literature the seventeenth century. Lyrics verses romances and sonnets by Gngora Quevedo Cervantes San Juan de la Cruz Caldern de la Barca Tirso de Molina and others appear in this record sung in styles including buleras guajiras tangos and... alegras. The contents are recorded live in the Maestranza in Seville (the city's bull-ring) one of the stages where Jos Menese has performed this show very successfully. He is accompanied by the singing of Laura Vita and the guitars of Enrique de Melchor and Eduardo Rebollar.
