Alain Robbe-Grillet directs this surrealist French drama. Daniel Mesguich stars as Walter, who is attracted to the beautiful Marie-Ange (Gabrielle Lazure) when he sees her at a nightclub - and later finds her lying bound and injured in the road. He takes her to a nearby villa where he ends up being locked in a bedroom with her. When he wakes up after night of passion, Walter finds that the woman has disappeared, the villa is a deserted ruin and he is covered in blood. Did the events he remembers really happen, or is it all just some kind of bizarre nightmare?
