First 13 episodes of the 1990s ITV drama series set around a London restaurant and a neighbouring block of flats. Nick Kemp (Oliver Haden) is the head chef of SE1, the restaurant he co-owns with his wife, Isobel (Sally Edwards). Keeping things in the family, the restaurant is managed by Nick's sister, Liz (Rosalind March), and also sees regular visitations from her son, Jed (Sean Francis). However, things aren't all rosy with the Kemps. The grittier side of London life reveals itself when a local woman turns up murdered, an event which particularly concerns flat resident Mary O'Connor (Simone Lahbib), who also happens to be Nick's mistress. Will the family be able to survive the turmoil of London life and Nick's philandering?
