Sir Alex had promised his young guns that he would reward their hard work in getting United to the final of the Carling Cup and that is exactly what he did with Darron Gibson Danny Wellbeck Johny Evans and Ben Foster all in the starting line up. With the game at a 0-0 deadlock after extra time Wembley braced itself for the drama of penalties. Giggsy stepped up first and calmly slotted home and when Ben Foster saved Spurs first spot kick to become the hero... of the day the final result was never in doubt. Tevez Ronaldo and Anderson all fired home confidently and when Tottenham''s final penalty went wide Wembley erupted into joy as the United fans celebrated the success of another trophy.
