BBC drama following the investigation into the disappearance of a young woman in a small town. Every summer the town revisits its pagan roots in a festival that has as its highpoint the crowning of the May Queen. However, when this year's queen goes missing on her big day it sparks a search for answers that threatens to shine a light on the dark underbelly of the seemingly peaceful community.
Mayday is a country village that holds on to its pagan traditions. On the morning of the town's annual highlight, the crowning of the May Queen, the intended girl goes missing. Soon every man in the village is under suspicion and the community is sundered. The police are faced with a tangled web of relationships and resentments.
