Waris Hussein directs this British drama starring Mark Lester and Tracy Hyde. After falling in love with his classmate Melody (Hyde), ten-year-old schoolboy Daniel (Lester) announces his intention to marry her as soon as possible. His plans are met with opposition from his parents and his best friend Ornshaw (Jack Wild), who is jealous of the attention Daniel has been giving Melody. However, ignoring the protests of those around him, Daniel carries on undeterred and begins recruiting his classmates to help him organise a secret ceremony in one of his hideouts well away from the eyes of the disapproving adults.
