Merlin Complete BBC Series 5 is the fifth and final series of this cult fantasy drama which aired on BBC 1 between 2008 and 2012. It is very loosely based on the ancient legend of King Arthur. The storyline focuses on the relationship between the young King Arthur and the young wizard Merlin who was originally sent to Camelot to work for Magister Gaius the court physician.
Series five (13 episodes) re-joins the characters in the magical mythical kingdom of Camelot at a time when King Arthur is hugely popular and in a supremely powerful position. He is supported... by his loyal Knights of the Round Table and his new wife, Queen Guinevere, and his plans to bring his people into a Golden Age are on track. However, enemies are infiltrating his inner circle and the notorious traitor Mordred's arrival threatens both the King's life and Camelot's stability. Merlin and Arthur must maintain their allegiance and face the battle of Camelot together bringing the series to a dramatic conclusion with good predictably triumphing over evil.
