This box set contains both series of this hugely popular and genuinely original (albeit slightly old-fashioned) sitcom starring British Comedy Award winning Miranda Hart "Queen of Comedy".
Will Miranda ever come to terms with her hopeless social and physical clumsiness? Throughout both series she desperately struggles to fit in with her contemporaries but nearly every situation results in her ending up flustered, embarrassed and quite often falling, literally, on the floor. Her ex-boarding school friend Tilly played by Sally Phillips ("bear with") and her... work colleague, Stevie (Sarah Hadland) with whom she runs a joke shop business, are both stylish, petite and self-composed which makes matters even worse as Miranda herself is over 6ft tall and always in a tizzy. Added to this is her "what I call" overbearing mother who is always putting her down and is constantly undermining her confidence and who tries everything she can to marry poor Miranda off to just about anyone.
Will Miranda finally get together with Gary, an old university friend who Miranda desperately fancies and who is a constant presence in her life as he runs the restaurant next door (except for when he had a spell visiting Hong Kong) or is she destined for a life of permanent self-pity? Along with camp waiter Clive (James Holmes) and various other associates this sitcom which will have you laughing (and possibly crying at times) is based entirely around oddball Miranda and the awkward situations she unwittingly blunders into. "Such fun"!

The first two series of the BBC sitcom starring Miranda Hart. After a public school education, socially inept Miranda (Hart) is having trouble fitting in with her peer group, especially her childhood nemesis, Tilly (Sally Phillips). To top it all, Miranda constantly finds herself in awkward situations around men, and in particular, ex-university chum Gary (Tom Ellis). The cast also features Patricia Hodge and Sarah Hadland. The episodes from Series 1 are: 'Date', 'Teacher', 'Job', 'Holiday', 'Excuse' and 'Dog'. The episodes from Series 2 are: 'The New Me', 'Before I Die', 'Let's Do It', 'A New Low', 'Just Act Normal' and 'The Perfect Christmas'.
This release includes the entire first and second series of Miranda Hart's very own hilarious BBC sitcom. Written by and starring Hart as a hapless joke shop owner, prone to falling over and socially humiliating herself. Helping Miranda muddle through life are her good friends Stevie (Sarah Hadland) and Gary (Tom Ellis), all under the disapproving eye of her mother Penny (Patricia Hodge). The popular series harks back to the golden days of TV comedy, with Hart often 'breaking the forth wall' to comment on the ever amusing farcical events.
