Made-for-TV horror in which experimental oil drilling in the desert accidentally unleashes a number of deadly creatures. When the Mongolian Death Worms, thought to be purely mythological beings, are awakened by the pumping of heated water deep into the Mongolian earth, the carnage is almost instantaneous. The hunger and fury of the creatures is such that they attack everyone in their path. The only chance of salvation appears to be Daniel Upton (Sean Patrick Flanery), a treasure hunter who has spent his life seeking the tomb of Genghis Khan. Aided by a stranded medical worker, Alicia (Victoria Pratt), Daniel attempts to devise a way of containing the Death Worms. But the creatures are rumoured to protect one of the tombs Daniel has spent his life searching for. Will he be prepared to sacrifice the chance of treasure and glory to restore order?
