Save for a couple of occasions in the seventies when the band briefly split Mountain remained an integral and hugely important band within the mainstream of rock music. Formed in 1969 by the guitarist Leslie West and bassist/producer Felix Pappalardi Mountain became one of the highest grossing rock acts on the music scene between the years 1969 and 1972. One of the bands earliest gigs was at the legendary Woodstock Festival. Shortly afterwards Canadian drummer Corky Laing joined the band where he has remained ever since. Sadly Felix Pappalardi died in 1983. In 1985... the band - now featuring the line up of Leslie West Corky Laing and British bassist Mark Clarke - promoted the recent album ""Go For Your Life."" More importantly they were asked to play as special guests on the Deep Purple European tour. This DVD was filmed in front of a massive and hugely enthusiastic audience delighted by the band playing a set consisting of their finest moments - including ""Nantucket Sleighride"" ""Never In My Life"" ""Mississippi Queen"" and ""Theme For An Imaginary Western"". This amazing performance captured by German Television's premier rockshow production team has rarely been seen until now. Hence another exclusive with the debut of the performance on DVD.
