Romantic comedy starring Renee Zellwegger and Harry Connick Jr. Lucy Hill (Zellwegger) is a high-powered businesswoman living a luxury life in Miami. When she is sent to a small town in icy Minnesota to oversee the restructuring of a blue collar manufacturing plant, the adjustment process takes a while. But as she gets used to small-town life, and falls in love with one of the factory's employees, union rep Ted Mitchell (Connick Jr), she comes to reconsider her own goals and priorities.

Seeing the opportunity for promotion she is sent to a middle of nowhere town in Minnesota to oversee the restructuring of a blue collar manufacturing plant. After enduring a frosty reception from the locals icy roads and freezing weather she warms up to the small town's charm and eventually finds herself being accepted by the community. What begins as a straight forward job assignment becomes a life changing experience as Lucy discovers greater meaning in her life and most unexpectedly the man of her dreams. When she's ordered to close down the plant and put the community out of work she's forced to reconsider her priorities finding a way to save the town.
