Filipino existential drama directed by Lav Diaz. A contemporary reimagining of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel 'Crime and Punishment', the film follows Fabian (Sid Lucero), a young student who has grown tired of the way his country is run and the rules and laws which govern society. In an attempt to personally transcend these laws, he acts out by committing murder; believing that his crime will result in improving the lives of those in debt to his victim, Magda (Mae Paner), an elderly moneylender. As another innocent man is jailed for the crime and forced to accept his fate, Fabian roams free, but will guilt catch up with him eventually?
