Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones star in this classic musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein. In sunny Oklahoma, cowboy Curly (MacRae) has fallen madly in love with local girl Laurey (Jones), but ever the good girl, Laurey plays hard-to-get, even after he asks her to the box social. When lonely farmhand Jud Fry (Rod Steiger) also asks Laurey to the social, she agrees to go with him in an effort to make Curley jealous. After Jud realises that Laurey is really in love with Curley, his anger gets the better of him and chaos ensues. The cast also includes Gloria Grahame as Ado Annie, Gene Nelson as Will Parker, Charlotte Greenwood as Aunt Eller and Eddie Albert as Ali Hakim.
