Following the nationalisation of transport in 1948, the British Transport Commission set up its own in-house film production and distribution unit. It produced hundreds of films that offered information and promoted travel on Britain's railways. This is the first in a series of double DVD sets featuring some of these films, including 'Snowdrift at Bleath Gill', 'John Betjeman Goes By Train', 'The Diesel Train Driver' and 'On Track for the Eighties'.
