ParaNormanFrom the Makers of Coraline. Misunderstood local boy Norman, who is able to speak to the dead, takes on zombies, ghosts, witches and, worst of all, grown-ups to save his town from a centuries-old curse. CoralineBased on Neil Gaiman's international best-selling book and helmed by The Nightmare Before Christmas director Henry Selick. In the film, a young girl (voiced by Dakota Fanning) walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life--only much... better. But when this wondrously off-kilter, fantastical adventure turns dangerous, and her counterfeit other mother (voiced by Teri Hatcher) tries to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her stubborn determination, bravery, the aid of her neighbours and a talking black cat to save her real parents and some ghost children and to get back home. A double bill of animated adventures. In 'ParaNorman' (2012), Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee) is ostracised by his family and bullied at school because of his odd behaviour. What none of them know is that he is in continual dialogue with the ghosts, ghouls, vampires and zombies that prowl his neighbourhood unseen. However, when the town comes under threat from a centuries-old curse, it is up to Norman to save the day. The film also features the voice talents of John Goodman, Casey Affleck and Anna Kendrick. In 'Coraline' (2009), after moving into her new home with her work-fixated parents, Coraline Jones (Dakota Fanning) teams up with new friend Wybie Lovat (Robert Bailey Jr.) to explore the neighbourhood. Deciding it's just as dull as she thought, she turns her attentions to her own house, where, after following a button-eyed mouse, she stumbles upon a hidden door. Crawling through the passage beyond, Coraline emerges into an eerie, parallel version of her own world. Initially bewitched by her strange new surroundings, where everything seems to revolve around her, Coraline soon has to fight tooth and nail to return home when her new mother (Teri Hatcher) tries to force her to stay.
