Seth Carlson dreams of going to an art college in Manhattan but his father refuses to give him any financial help. In his pursuit of actually becoming an artist Seth opts to affect the mannerisms especially those of African American origin. One night as he is closing the restaurant he is held up by an escaped convict Knowledge Johnson. The convict is seriously wounded and passes put before he can escape. He is black and Seth decides to help him. He hid him and nurses him back to health. Knowledge is wary of Seth's attention and is appalled by it. But gradually... the two become friends. Parallel Sons is the unlikeliest of love stories and it races along toward an inevitable tragedy that's positively Shakespearian. [show more]
