Poland's leading contemporary composer Krzysztof Penderecki stands at the forefront of modern music. In this programme he conducts the Sinfonietta Cracovia in performances of four of his own works: Sinfonietta for Strings; Viola Concerto (soloist: Tabea Zimmermann); Capriccio for Oboe and Strings (soloist: Mariusz Pedzialek); and Concerto for Flute and Orchestra (soloist: Irena Grafenauer). Each piece is introduced by the composer.
