Well, what can I say...
If you enjoyed "Police Squad - IN COLOUR!!" when it was first shown on ITV, or you loved the Naked Gun trilogy, then this DVD is a MUST. Nothing has been changed, all six episodes are included, as well as oodles of extras. Sadly, they only ever made six episodes...what a mistake ABC TV made, not making more! I still cannot stop laughing....

Join accident prone Detective Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) as he bumbles his way through every task put in front of him oblivious to the blazing trail of incompetence he leaves in his wake Charming and debonair--but utterly clueless--Drebin always manages to catch his man albeit through a series of happy coincidences rather than any discernable talent A riotous spoof POLICE SQUAD successfully lampoons the detective genre with its melange of literal jokes non-sequiturs and good old-fashioned slapstick But it&39;s Nielsen&39;s finely-honed deadpan delivery that hits the funny bone time and again (he would later reprise his role in the hugely popular NAKED GUN films) Collected here is every episode from the first series
Frank Drebbin (Leslie Nielsen) leads his bungling detective squad in the comedy series that inspired the 'Naked Gun' films. This comedy classic mercilessly spoofed every detective show convention known and was the blueprint for the irreverent, 'anything might happen' formula that later made Nielsen a big movie name. Full of ridiculous moments such as when the weekly special guest star is introduced during the opening title sequence - and killed as soon as their name is read, never to be seen in the episode again. William Shatner, for example, dodged several bullets - before sitting down to a glass of poisoned wine. Even the title sequence itself was not straightforward; the title of the episode would come up on screen while a voiceover would say something entirely different. Thus does every episode have two titles; 'A Substantial Gift' (The Broken Promise),' 'Ring of Fear (A Dangerous Assignment),' 'Rendezvous at Big Gulch (Terror in the Neighborhood), 'Revenge and Remorse' (The Guilty Alibi),' 'The Butler Did It (A Bird in the Hand)' and 'Testimony of Evil' (Dead Men Don't Laugh).
